European project “‘ETRES’ – September 2016-2019

Polis participates in the European project “‘ETRES’ – European Educational & Training Resources for Environment & Sustainability”, supported by the European Union under the Erasmus+ program, coordinated by the French agronomic insitute Supagro from Montpellier. The project aims to provide support for the action of educators accompanying citizens groups involved in action for ecological transition.

 Forum on «Ethics and Responsibility»

Polis coordinated from 2011 till 2014 the thematic group on «Environmental Education» of the Forum on «Ethics and Responsibility». In this framework, Polis has initiated, in collaboration with its partners, a critical analysis of the notion of sustainable development as well as of the “responsibility of educators involved in Environmental Education”.

 The “Charter of Human Responsibilities”

Polis has coordinated, between 2004 and 2010 the work for the “Charter of Human Responsibilities” in Southern and West Europe. Many projects had been initiated by Polis during this period, as for instance:

• a collective itinerary painting exhibition, presented in Greece, France and Brazil, on the theme “environment: common good – common responsibility”
• the edition of a fairytail book for children on our responsibility towards the environment, a children painting exhibition and a children theater play representation,
• a project for the creation of educational material for children involving artists, children and educators from 5 countries.

 Polis’ actions between 1996 and 2000

Between 1996 and 2000, Polis has been gathering educational experiences éducatives in Environmental Education from all over the world, showing a diversity of conceptions, values, stakeholders, themes, educational practices to share.
